Description
HISTORICAL BUILDING OF THE 18TH CENTURY
Travel to the Greek-speaking villages of Italy and choose this historic aristocratic building of the 18th century for your stay.
In the historic center of Martano is the Palazzo, as indicated by the coat of arms placed in the center of the door facing the balcony, on which you can read the Latin motto “D. O. VANIS LATRATIBUS OBSTO – 1719”.
The building consists of two floors:
The ground floor has an elegant entrance gate in the center of which the heraldic insignia of the powerful and wealthy family of the aristocratic era make a beautiful display.
On the sides, following the slightly curved course of the street, there are two symmetrical wings characterized by high access doors.
On the ground floor there is a large entrance hall, two reception rooms, a dining room, the kitchen and two bathrooms. The sobriety of the lower floor contrasts with a more articulated upper floor: in the center of the facade, in correspondence with the access gate, a balcony characterized by elegant pillars scattered with sculptures depicting anthropomorphic figures, typical of Salento.
On the first floor there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The basement has 4 large rooms, one of which is equipped with a billiard table. The beautiful courtyards overlook both sides of the building.
Very close to Otranto and its beautiful sea, half an hour from Lecce and one hour from Brindisi airport, this accommodation has all the features for an unforgettable holiday in the heart of Salento.
